John F. Carroll is licensed as an attorney in Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. He is also active registered nurse. Before opening his own in practice in June 2011, he worked as a home health registered nurse, a legal nurse consultant, and an associate attorney with Garland Law. John has practiced in medical malpractice since leaving law school in 2005.
Over the course of his legal career, John has written in legal magazines, presented legal and nursing education to other professionals involving medical malpractice, the Nebraska rules of evidence, trial practice techniques, insurance subrogation, storytelling, wrongful death, and a myriad of other topics. John is on the Board of Directors for the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys. He is also a July 2015 graduate of the Trial Lawyers College (TLC) where he was selected as the class representative for the F Warriors, the TLC alumni organization. While on the F Warriors Board of Directors, John was first the class representative, then elected to Regional Representative, and then elevated to Treasurer of the Executive Committee. He also organizes the F Warriors annual retreat that occurs in November of each year. John is an active member of the American Association for Justice, the Iowa Association for Justice, Top-25 Trial Lawyers, Top 100 National Trial Lawyers, Multi-Million Dollar Advocates, Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota Bar Associations and a nominee for the 2024 Nebraska State Bar Foundation Fellow class.
John and his partner, Chad, live on 40 acres in Gretna, NE where they take care of the largest herd of critically endangered San Clemente Island Goats. John spends his time with family and friends, and his menagerie of peacocks, chickens, and guinea fowl. John also enjoys gardening, canning, and making his famous Willow Valley Farms Seven Pepper Peach Jam in the summer. He enjoys cooking, baking, working out, swimming and trying not to get hurt playing pickleball. John also had the honor of playing Henry Wilcox in the play The Inheritance, Parts 1 and 2 in 2023 and 2024. John also enjoys writing, painting and is looking forward to other acting opportunities.
